Participation is voluntary.
The commissioner conducts the draft in reverse order of finish from the previous season.
Teams select players on their roster they want to drop (trade) for players in the free agent pool.
Managers submit a list of players they are willing to cut and a list of players they wish to acquire from the free agent pool.
Instructions should accompany lists outlining what should be done if the desired free agent is not available.
Free agents acquired in the mini draft may be signed long term following the season but it will cost the team a roster spot.
